Terrorism Policy

Purpose
This policy outlines the measures to mitigate and respond to potential terrorism-related threats at Goadby Marwood Village Hall, ensuring the safety of all users and visitors.

Scope
This policy applies to all trustees, volunteers, hirers, and visitors using the village hall. The hall has a maximum seated capacity of 60 people.
Prevention Measures

All hall users must remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour or unattended items.

Entry and exit points will be monitored where possible, with doors secured when not in use.

Booking records will be maintained to track who is using the hall.

Any unusual or suspicious activity must be reported to the police immediately.

Emergency Response

In the event of a suspected terrorist incident (e.g., bomb threat, suspicious package, or armed attack), the following steps should be taken:

Dial 999 and provide clear information to emergency services.

Evacuate the hall immediately using designated emergency exits.

Assemble at the designated safe meeting point in the car park.

Follow instructions from emergency services.

If evacuation is not safe, consider lockdown procedures by securing doors and keeping out of sight.

The Friends of Goadby Marwood Village Hall (FoGMVH) trustees will ensure that hall users are informed of this policy and understand emergency procedures.
